The Chaos host the Outlaws for Carolina’s second game of their home doubleheader. Despite losing to Utah on Friday night, I still think the Chaos can pull off an upset, as I laid out in my USA Lacrosse Magazine article. While Pat Kavanagh’s return to the lineup makes me less enthusiastic about Carolina’s chances, the absence of Jared Bernhardt is a massive loss for Denver.
In addition to Carolina Chaos moneyline at +112 on FanDuel, I like backing the home team early by betting a full unit on Carolina Chaos 1st quarter moneyline at -104 and a half unit on Carolina Chaos 1st half moneyline at +102 on FanDuel.
Despite liking Carolina to come away with the win, I am fading Carolina attackman Jackson Eicher. Eicher has the ability to explode for big games, but has been mostly held in check this season. He’s had two points or fewer in three of four games this season and 10 of 15 career games. At Friday’s post-game press conference, Steven Brooks also spoke about running him at midfield more to generate better matchups, but that could also lead to fewer touches. Ultimately, I trust this Denver defense to limit Eicher enough to hold him under three points. Bet Jackson Eicher Under 2.5 Points at -130 on FanDuel.
As for first quarter goal scorer props, I like a player from each team. For the third straight week, I’m betting Denver’s Evan Plunkett. With Bernhardt out, Plunkett should get more run at the midfield and he’s been very close to getting his first career goal. He’s had 15 shots with 7 on goal through two games and I like his odds to finally bury one in the opening period. Bet 0.2 unit on Evan Plunkett 1st quarter goal scorer (+390) on FanDuel.
I also like Carolina’s Shane Knobloch to score in the opening quarter. Knobloch. Knobloch had a pair of goals against Denver last year, despite seeing limited action in 2025. This season, he’s had a goal in every game and is averaging 4.3 shots on goal. He’s also got a very deceptive shot, which will be key in beating Logan McNaney. I think his odds are too long and expect him to have another goal in the first 15 minutes as he did on Friday. Bet 0.3 unit on Shane Knobloch 1st quarter goal scorer (+230) on FanDuel.
Picks: Carolina Chaos ML, Carolina Chaos 1Q ML, Carolina Chaos 1H ML (0.5 unit), Jackson Eicher Under 2.5 Points, Shane Knobloch 1Q Goal (0.3 unit), Evan Plunkett 1Q Goal (0.2 unit)

As I discussed in my USA Lacrosse Magazine preview, the Waterdogs will be without top defender Gavin Adler and are dressing only two true short-stick defensive midfielders with Casey Wilson also injured. It’s part of the reason I like Boston to defeat Philly for the second time this season and recommend betting Boston Cannons moneyline, which is at +100 on DraftKings and BetRivers. With CJ Kirst back, Philly should be able to make this game closer than the last meeting, but I still give the edge to Boston.
While I’m not sure Boston can reach 19 goals again, I do expect the Cannons to put up points again. I recommend betting a full unit on Boston Cannons 14+ Points at +115 and a half unit on Boston Cannons 15+ Points at +190 on FanDuel.
With Adler out of the picture and a thin defensive middie corps, I’m also individually buying stock in each of the Boston attackers. The Boston player who should benefit the most from Adler’s absence is Coulter Mackesy. The lefty attackman managed to have three points while being guarded by Adler in Week 2, but should have an even bigger outing. Mackesy has averaged 35.3 touches and 8.3 shots per game, and should continue to be the main facilitator on this attack line. Bet Coulter Mackesy Over 2.5 Points at -128 on FanDuel.
Marcus Holman had 6 points when these teams last played. While matching that total will be a tall task, I think it’s possible and expect him to at least get half of that. While he mostly operates as a goal scorer, I’d rather bet his less-juiced points prop than his goals prop, especially considering his two-point range. Bet Marcus Holman Over 2.5 Points at -115 on FanDuel.
Boston’s third starting attackman is Brian Kelly, whose held onto his starting spot since being inserted into the lineup in place of Asher Nolting and recording 5 points against Philly. I think he’ll be heavily involved again and love his odds to score in the opening period. Bet 0.3 unit on Brian Kelly 1st quarter goal scorer (+290) on FanDuel.
Finally, I’m betting on a Boston midfielder who was an attackman in college, Mikey Weisshaar. Weisshaar has been relatively quiet through three games, but had his best game against Philly and should be able to exploit this Waterdogs defensive middie unit. I expect him to operate more as a dodger and shooter on Saturday night and recommend betting Mikey Weisshaar Over 1.5 Goals at +100 on DraftKings.
Picks: Boston Cannons ML, Boston Cannons 14+ Points, Boston Cannons 15+ Points (0.5 unit), Coulter Mackesy Over 2.5 Points, Marcus Holman Over 2.5 Points, Mikey Weisshaar Over 1.5 Goals, Brian Kelly 1Q Goal (0.3 unit)
