The Rochester Knighthawks host the franchise formerly known as the Rochester Knighthawks on “90’s Night” and the game is a pick ’em at most sportsbooks. Both teams are coming off big wins to snap early-season losing streaks, but I think the home team will be the one extending their win streak on Saturday.

Rochester had been plagued by an underperforming offense in recent weeks, but they finally put together a complete game against the previously undefeated Georgia Swarm. They match up well against a Halifax team that has struggled on defense outside of a near two-quarter shutout by Drew Hutchison against Albany. I don’t think the Thunderbirds are as bad as their record, but I do expect them to struggle to defend Rochester’s offense regardless of whether Hutchison or Warren Hill starts in net. Rochester has the offense to pick apart Halifax and a lot of the Knighthawks early issues can be attributed to playing really good defenses headlined by great goaltenders. They should be able to have a lot of success against this Halfiax defense.

Additionally, Rochester now has a faceoff specialist in Michael Sisselberger, which should allow them to limit Jake Withers’ impact in the possession battle. Knighthawks goaltender Riley Hutchcraft has also gotten better every week and the new additions on defense have started to play better in front of him. I expect Rochester to come away with the win and recommend betting Knighthawks ML at +100 on bet365.

Pick: Rochester Knighthawks ML

Albany FireWolves at Colorado Mammoth

Albany Moneyline/Spread+135 / +1.5
Colorado Moneyline/Spread-170 / -1.5
Total22.5

The FireWolves travel to Colorado to take on the Mammoth and Albany is desperate for a win. I expect to see a close game between the two burgundy teams, so I’d rather target the total in this game then bet a side. The total is 22.5 at certain sportsbooks and I think this is a tad low given these two offenses and key absences on defense for Albany.

The FireWolves will be without John Wagner, Jackson Nishimura and Colton Watkinson on defense, all are key losses on the defensive end. Colorado will also be without defender Brett Craig. So, despite some great goalies between the pipes in Doug Jamieson and Dillon Ward, these netminders will likely see a ton of high quality scoring chances on Saturday.

Colorado’s offense has also be one of the best in the league this season averaging 13.6 goals per game—the fourth-best rate in the NLL—and has been one of the more efficient teams, scoring on 16.46% of their offensive sets according to Ty Merrow’s advances stats. While Albany has been less efficient, they’ve still averaged 11.2 goals per game and have enough firepower on offense to give this Colorado defense some trouble.

Bet this game to go over 22.5 at -120 on Caesars.

Pick: Over 22.5
