While it’s still early in the 2025 men’s college lacrosse season, now is a great time to look at some futures. Let’s take a look at an undervalued conference tournament pick and two championship futures to bet right now.
2025 Men’s College Lacrosse Conference Winner Pick
A couple sportsbooks are still offering conference tournament odds on a week-to-week basis with bet365 and DraftKings being the most consistent. I’m largely aligned with a lot of the current conference tournament favorites (Georgetown -120, Richmond -140, VMI +120, etc.), while other conferences, like the ACC and Big Ten, I consider toss-ups with three or four teams that have a great chance at winning.
I mentioned in my preseason futures article how I’m not a fan of betting conference tournament futures this far out, particularly favorites. When I gave out North Carolina to win the ACC at +2000 and Ohio State to win the Big Ten at +1200, those were at odds that were too long not to bet before the season started. Now, those conferences have evened out a bit. Yet, there is one conference in particular that I think is still worth betting.
Colgate to win Patriot League Tournament (+600)
The Patriot League, like other conferences, already has a clear favorite in Army. Army is a team I was high on entering this season and bet at +6000 and I think they should be the favorites to win the Patriot League. Yet, Colgate is a team that I think could play spoiler and I like their odds to win the Patriot League at +600. They were as short as +375 and as long as +550 before the season started, but now sit at even longer odds despite a great start to the season.
Army has looked incredible, but these odds aren’t factoring how competitive Colgate has looked. The Raiders have two impressive wins over a pair of ranked teams in Harvard and Villanova and their roster is nearly the same as the one that beat Army last year, 14-11.
Furthermore, the other competition in the Patriot League hasn’t impressed. Last year’s Patriot League winner Lehigh is currently winless. Loyola is also winless, though have admittedly looked much more competitive against better competition. Then, Boston University and Navy have been solid so far this year, but still have bigger weaknesses than Colgate does. We saw Army upset in the Patriot League tournament last year and I think the odds are good enough for a bet in case that happens again.
If the Raiders continue to play well, these odds could be long gone, and even if they falter, they likely won’t have odds much longer when the tournament gets here. Bet Colgate to win the Patriot League at +600 on bet365 or DraftKings.
