2025 Men’s College Lacrosse Early Conference Tournament Pick & Championship Futures

2025 Men’s College Lacrosse Championship Futures

We bet Maryland (+1100) and Army (+6000) to win the championship prior to the start of the season and both teams have played well enough to demand much shorter odds at this point in the season. Yet, other teams have not lived up to expectations, but have still shown promise and create great “buy low” opportunities. Let’s dive in to the two teams you should bet right now.

Syracuse to win 2025 championship (+1100)

This is a great buy-low spot on the Orange. Syracuse entered the season with the second-shortest odds behind only Notre Dame, but have appeared mortal after back-to-back losses to Maryland and Harvard. The Orange now have odds more than double their preseason odds, but I still think Syracuse can be a final four team.

Let’s give Maryland and Harvard credit; the Terps played great defense, controlled the clock and made Syracuse pay in unsettled situations. Then, Harvard matched the Orange’s firepower on offense and got some stellar goalie play from true freshman Graham Stevens. Neither losses were flukes, but this Orange team has still showed plenty of promise.

Syracuse is still fifth in adjusted offensive efficiency and third in adjusted faceoff win percentage according to Lacrosse Reference. While their defense has struggled against quality opponents, I still think this unit is good enough to hang with the best teams. Trust the Orange to right the ship and bet a unit on Syracuse at +1100 on bet365 or BetRivers.

Georgetown to win 2025 championship (+3300)

If you subscribe to my picks on DubClub, you hopefully were able to snag Georgetown -3.5 against Brown this week before the market moved to as much as -6.5. Yet, I have another angle for betting the Hoyas this week.

Georgetown was actually as long as +4500 on Monday morning before odds shifted, but I still think the Hoyas are worth a small future at +3300. Georgetown’s two losses are to a strong Johns Hopkins team and the championship favorite Notre Dame. The Hoyas once again played the Fighting Irish tight, losing 9-11.

The Hoyas are a very balanced team, ranking 20th in adjusted defensive efficiency, 29th in adjusted offensive efficiency and 13th in adjusted faceoff percentage excluding garbage time. While Denver will give them a good game and Providence appears to be competitive again this season, I still think they’re the clear cut best team in the Big East and that’s important when betting futures this early. You want to bet teams that are good enough to get an at-large bid or are in a great position to win their conference. The Hoyas fit the bill and these odds are too long for a team that has advanced to the quarterfinals in three of the last four seasons and lost to teams that made the final in each of those instances.

Their remaining schedule is fairly easy with only Richmond and Denver as potentially challenging games. As far as long shots with realistic championship aspirations go, they’re my favorite on the board. Bet a 0.3 unit on Georgetown at +3300 on Caesars.
