In my USA Lacrosse Magazine preview, I made the case for Denver to win outright, even considering their injuries on both sides of the ball. Despite missing Jared Bernhardt and Pat Kavanagh, the Outlaws offense look solid. Brennan O’Neill stepped up and Dalton Young filled in admirably on attack. The Outlaws also added Jake Taylor this week and he should give the offense an Eric Law-esque presence around the crease. Denver’s defense will be without Ben Randall, but I’m less worried about his absence with Connor Shellenberger also out for the Atlas. It’s still unclear if Logan McNaney or Owen McElroy will get the start in net, but McElroy has been serviceable when called upon. Bet Denver Outlaws -1.5 at -110 on Caesars and a half unit on Denver Outlaws -2.5 at +162 on FanDuel.
While I expect Denver to win, I am expecting a big day from Matt Traynor, who should be one of New York’s go-to guys on Saturday. Traynor had five points last week on two goals and three assists with the injured Connor Shellenberger out. Denver’s missing Randall should allow Atlas to have moderate success on offense and I expect Traynor to be heavily involved. Bet Matt Traynor Over 1.5 Goals at -120 on FanDuel and Over 2.5 Points at -110 on BetMGM.
As for Denver, I’m betting a Brennan O’Neill prop, but it’s probably not the one you expect. O’Neill exploded for six points on four goals, including a two-pointer, last week. Yet, given this matchup, I could see him operating more as a feeder. New York will undoubtedly be quick to slide to O’Neill and the result could be him assisting Denver’s offball shooters like Taylor and Logan Wisnauskas. O’Neill is also 10th in the PLL in assist opportunities with 34, so he dishes it more than people may realize. I recommend betting Brennan O’Neill Over 1.5 Assists at +105 on DraftKings. He’s hit this in five of nine games, including the last one against New York, and I think he’ll do so again.
Finally, I’m also betting a pair of 1st quarter goal scorers. The aforementioned Taylor is listed at attack and has a good matchup against an Atlad defense that has struggled to defend offball shooters like Taylor. I think he’ll get plenty of chances to score early and recommend betting 0.4 unit on Jake Taylor 1st Quarter Goal (+160) on FanDuel.
Young is listed as a midfielder this week, but I still expect him to get some runs at attack on the right side and wouldn’t be surprised if he even starts again on attack. His odds are too long to score in the opening quarter again, so I recommend betting 0.3 unit on Dalton Young 1st Quarter Goal (+230) on FanDuel.

The Cannons host the Redwoods for the final game of the weekend. These teams combined for 27 goals when they last played, but I think we could see a lower scoring game on Saturday night. Let’s not forget, this game was just 4-2 at halftime before a second half explosion from both teams. Furthermore, California was missing both defenders Chris Fake and Cole Kastner and Boston was without Hunter Smith. With all three of those defensemen back and the fold, I think we’ll see less goals scored this time around. In my USA Lacrosse Magazine preview, I gave out Under 26.5 at +100 on BetRivers and also recommend betting a half unit on Under 25.5 at +112 on FanDuel.
As for player props, I’m holding my nose and betting against Friday night’s overtime hero, Marcus Holman. Holman has been consistently productive for Boston, but I like the odds for him to stay under his points prop on Saturday. Holman has had three or fewer points in seven of 11 games this season, including the last time the Cannons faced the Redwoods. Bet Marcus Holman Under 3.5 Points at -130 on BetMGM.
Despite liking this game to stay under, I am betting Andrew McAdorey to go over his goals and points prop. Boston really struggled to defend McAdorey when they last played and the Cannons were shredded in their one-on-one matchups on Friday night. McAdorey will be the fastest player on the field on Saturday and I expect him to be aggressive. Bet a full unit on Andrew McAdorey Over 1.5 Goals at +144 and a half unit on Over 2.5 Points at +186 on FanDuel.
