Week 8 in the Premier Lacrosse League is upon us and Friday night features some historically great matchups. However, I’m betting the two favorites to win and cover. See why I like both Friday night favorites and the other props I’m betting to start PLL Week 8.

The New York Atlas have surged to the top of the standings and look just as good as they did for all of last season. Their offense in particular, can exploit opposing defenses in so many ways, which often makes it hard to bet New York player props given how many contributors they have. They’re facing a California defense that is not only weak at short-stick defensive midfield, but also has a starting goaltender in Chayse Ierlan saving less than 50% of his shots. This is not a great recipe for defending the deepest offense in the league. New York’s defense has also been playing much better with Danny Logan in the lineup and as a whole is doing its part to support the offense. I think New York will be able to pull away enough to not only win but also cover and recommend betting New York Atlas -1.5 at -118 on FanDuel.
As for player props, I’m targeting Andrew McAdorey in this game. He needs just four points to go over his regular-season point total of 19.5, but I’m hoping he needs another game to do so. The California speedster has played well for the Redwoods, but he should have a tough time generating quality scoring chances against this Atlas defense if matched up with any of New York’s poles or the aforementioned Logan. Trust the Atlas to keep him in check and bet Andrew McAdorey Under 2.5 Points at -110 on bet365.
New York’s depth is why I’m mostly avoiding Atlas player props, but I do like the value on Jeff Teat’s goals prop on DraftKings. Teat had a huge game against this defense last year and California had arguably a better starting goalie and defensive midfield unit at the time. He had four goals against California last year and has recorded a hat trick in eight of his last 17 games. I think he’ll have some success as a goal scorer on Friday and recommend betting a half unit on Jeff Teat 3+ Goals at +160 on DraftKings.
Picks: New York Atlas -1.5, Andrew McAdorey Under 2.5 Points, Jeff Teat 3+ Goals
Utah Archers vs. Carolina Chaos

The first of two meetings between Utah and Carolina occurs this weekend and both teams are seeking to keep their playoff hopes alive and boost their negative score differential. While Carolina has been one of the best teams against the spread at 4-2 and Utah is currently 0-6 against the spread this year, I think this is the week to go contrarian to those trends.
Utah’s offense has struggled most of the season, but I trust Coach Chris Bates to get this unit back to playing championship ball. Leclaire looked comfortable in his return to the lineup and gives the Archers another stretch shooter that should open up some more in-close looks. Utah has also played three of the best teams in the league in a row and will face a Carolina team that they embarrassed in the playoffs last year. Granted, the Chaos look vastly different on offense this season, but they aren’t a unit that I’m confident will manage to break one of the best defenses in the league. Expect Archers to secure the win and their first cover of the season on Friday night. I recommend betting Utah Archers 1st Half Moneyline at -125 on DraftKings and Utah Archers -1.5 at +120 on Caesars. I expect Utah to come out strong and carry a lead all the way to the end of the game.
After cashing in on Blaze Riorden going over his saves prop last week, we’re going to fade the Carolina keeper this week. I don’t necessarily think Riorden will have a bad game, but I don’t expect he’ll get the volume of shots he needs to reach 16 saves. Utah is last in total shots per game and I expect them to work for high-quality shots on Friday night. Riorden failed to reach this saves total in all three games against Utah last year and I expect him to stay under it again. Bet Blaze Riorden Under 15.5 Saves at -120 on DraftKings.
I’m also betting Owen Hiltz Under 4.5 Shots On Goal at -150 on DraftKings. Hiltz has actually gone over this in two of his three games, but only by half a shot on goal both times and he faced some weaker defenses. Not only does Utah boast one of the best defenses in the PLL, but the Archers are allowing just an average of 25.8 shots on goal per game. I also expect them to prioritize limiting Hiltz and predict that he stays under this mark.
As for Utah, I’m targeting three of their players, starting with Connor Fields. The lefty attackman hasn’t been as productive this season, but has still been one of the few Archers consistently winning his matchups. I love the odds on BetMGM to bet him to record three or more points—which he’s done in 10 of his last 18 games. Bet Connor Fields Over 2.5 Points at +125 on BetMGM.
Another Archers points prop I love is Sam King. King has recorded three or more points in four of six games this season and with Matt Moore out of the lineup again, I expect to see plenty of King. Carolina’s defensive midfield is also fairly weak this year, which should give King plenty of chances as both a goal scorer and passer. Bet Sam King Over 2.5 Points at +175 on BetMGM.
Finally, we’re betting 0.4 unit on Tre Leclaire 1st Quarter Goal Scorer at +175 on FanDuel again this week. Leclaire looked fully healthy last week, scoring two goals in his 2025 debut, and has historically had success against this Carolina defense. I like the odds to bet him to find the back of the net in the first quarter.
Picks: Utah Archers -1.5, Utah Archers 1st Half ML, Blaze Riorden Under 15.5 Saves, Owen Hiltz Under 4.5 SOG, Connor Fields Over 2.5 Points, Sam King Over 2.5 Points, Tre Leclaire 1Q Goal Scorer (0.4 unit)
Bonus Parlay
I already gave out an early lookahead parlay of Under 2.5 Two-Point Goals in Atlas-Redwoods and Over 0.5 Two-Point Goal in Archers-Chaos on Wednesday and I have another parlay to add. Since I like both New York and Utah to win, I’m also betting a half unit on bet365’s boosted parlay of Atlas ML and Archers ML at +200. These are good odds for something I already think is going to happen, so it’s worth a small bet.
