Week 4 in the National Lacrosse League features four matchups, and I have a bet in each. Let’s take a look at the two favorites and two underdogs I’m betting this weekend.

The Oshawa FireWolves host the Vancouver Warriors on Friday night, and neither team has lived up to their preseason expectations just yet. It’s still early, but Oshawa’s abysmal offense is really concerning. They’re not winning their individual matchups, struggling to generate quality shots on five-on-five, and most of their goals against Georgia came in unsettled situations. Vancouver laid an egg in their season opener against Colorado, but looked much more comfortable in their win over Las Vegas. Their 15-9 win over the Desert Dogs wasn’t as close as the final score indicated, and they were dealing with a noticeable possession disadvantage. Once they get Alec Stathakis back, that should even out.
I considered betting this extremely low total of 20.5, but think it is fairly sharp. Historically, games have gone over totals of 20.5 or lower in 12 of 15 games during the last five seasons. These specific teams have stayed under this total in 16 of 39 combined games dating back to last year, including a 10-4 contest in April. Ultimately, I think it’s a toss up on whether we see 21 or more goals on Friday night.
I do expect Vancouver to win and cover the spread while doing so. The Warriors have enough offensive weapons to break this solid Oshawa defense, and the FireWolves offense should struggle again to reach double-digit goals. Vancouver is very sound defensively, and Oshawa once again won’t have a possession advantage with faceoff specialist Joe Nardella out of the lineup again. Bet Vancouver Warriors -1.5 at -110 on Caesars or FanDuel.
Pick: Vancouver Warriors -1.5
Rochester Knighthawks at Philadelphia Wings

On Saturday, the 1-0 Rochester Knighthawks face the 1-0 Philadelphia Wings. Rochester steamrolled San Diego in their first win, while the Wings rode a great performance by goalie Nick Damude to an 8-7 win over Colorado. I think Damude masked some of Philly’s familiar problems defensively and the offense was severely lacking without some of their key forwards from last year.
Rochester’s offense looked like a well-oiled machine and Rylan Hartley blanked many of San Diego’s quality chances. This is another great spot to bet a favorite to win by multiple goals. Last year, Rochester beat Philly 15-12 and the Knighthawks have only gotten better while the Wings lost some key contributors. Bet Rochester Knighthawks -1.5 at -115 on BetMGM or Caesars.
Pick: Rochester Knighthawks -1.5
Georgia Swarm at Saskatchewan Rush
Georgia Moneyline/Spread | +170 / +1.5 |
Saskatchewan Moneyline/Spread | -225 / -1.5 |

My favorite bet of the weekend comes in the Georgia Swarm vs. Saskatchewan Rush. I entered the season high on Saskatchewan and likely lower than most on Georgia. My opinion of both teams hasn’t changed drastically, but I don’t think there’s that large of a gap between these teams.
I have the Rush as a moderate favorite, but the odds disparity between these two teams is way too large. We saw Georgia hang around with Buffalo and put together a great defensive performance against Oshawa. Meanwhile, Saskatchewan barely beat Calgary and lost to Ottawa. Last year, the Rush won 8-7 in the regular season and I’m expecting another tight contest with the possibility of a Swarm outright win. These odds are way too long for this matchup and it’s a great spot to back an underdog. Split a unit and bet half on Georgia Swarm +1.5 at +125 and half on Georgia Swarm ML at +170 on BetRivers.
Picks: Georgia Swarm +1.5 (0.5 unit), Georgia Swarm ML (0.5 unit)
Ottawa black bears at Las Vegas Desert Dogs
Ottawa Moneyline/Spread | -105 / +1.5 |
Las Vegas Moneyline/Spread | -115 / -1.5 |

Our final game of the weekend is between the Ottawa Black Bears and Las Vegas Desert Dogs. Ottawa secured a big win over Saskatchewan last week and the addition of Rob Hellyer is looking like the most impactful trade of the offseason. Ottawa’s offense has looked great through two games and I expect the defense to start to pull its weight more as the season progresses.
Meanwhile, the new-look Desert Dogs played admirably against Vancouver, but it’s clear that Landon Kells shouldn’t be the long-term plan at goaltender for Vegas. I wouldn’t be surprised if Alex Buque gets the nod on Saturday night, but even with a goalie change and potentially the 2025 debut of Chase Fraser, I expect Ottawa to leave Vegas with a win.
Las Vegas didn’t have any answers on defense for stopping the Warriors’ best forwards and should have a tough time against this Hellyer and Jeff Teat-led offense. The odds have shifted a bit from +105, but I still recommend betting Ottawa Black Bears ML at -105 on FanDuel.
Pick: Ottawa Black Bears ML
2025-26 NLL Season Best Bets: 5-5 for −0.05 unit
All bets are to win 1 unit or more (i.e. 1.2 units at -120, 1 unit at +120) unless otherwise specified.
