The Premier Lacrosse League heads to Fairfield, Connecticut for Week 8 and features all eight teams in action again across three days. I previewed the entire weekend for USA Lacrosse Magazine and gave out best bets for each matchup, including the total in Maryland Whipsnakes vs. California Redwoods. Let’s take a look at my favorite props for Friday’s game as well…

I’m expecting a close game between these two teams in a 2019 PLL championship rematch. I would have made the Whipsnakes a slight favorite, but the Redwoods aren’t favored enough for me to want to back Maryland on the moneyline. Instead, I’m betting Under 24.5 at -125 on Caesars and explained why in my USA Lacrosse Magazine preview.
Both teams are coming off strong offensive performances, but the Redwoods defense is getting Chris Fake back on defense. The Whipsnakes offense played well last week, but faced a banged-up Carolina defense and could see some regression. I also expect both goaltenders, Dillon Ward and Emmet Carroll, to have strong performances. Not only are we backing these goalies via the under, but we can also bet their saves props on BetMGM, DraftKings and FanDuel.
In my USA Lacrosse Magazine, I mentioned we could see these goalies combine for at least 25 saves, so I’m betting an escalator for each goalie’s saves props on FanDuel. For Redwoods, bet Dillon Ward 12+ Saves (-114) and then betting a 0.75 unit on Dillon Ward 13+ Saves (+116), 0.5 unit on Dillon Ward 14+ Saves (+154) and 0.2 unit on Dillon Ward 15+ Saves (+210). For Whipsnakes, bet a full unit on Emmet Carroll 12+ Saves (+108), a half unit on Emmet Carroll 13+ Saves (+142), 0.3 unit on Emmet Carroll 14+ Saves (+192) and 0.2 unit on Emmet Carroll 15+ Saves (+275).
I also recommend betting Ryder Garnsey Under 2.5 Goals at -145 on BetMGM. Garnsey has played well through two games since starting on attack again, but I think this is a great sell-high spot against a solid Whipsnakes defense.
