We went 4-3 last weekend and 1-1 during the week for +1.77 units, bringing our 2025 record to 24-17-1 for +8.32 units so far this season. Saturday features plenty of conference matchups and I have best bets for two of those games. Let’s take a look at my betting card for Week 7.

Stony Brook travels to Towson for a CAA showdown with the Tigers a 4.5-point favorite. Instead of the spread, I’m targeting the total of 22.5 in this game.
Seven of Stony Brook’s eight games have stayed under this mark and that’s due in large part to a defense that ranks 13th in adjusted defensive efficiency excluding garbage time according to Lacrosse Reference. The Seawolves stout defense is led by goalie Jamison MacLachlan, whose 60.2% save percentage this season ranks ninth in Division I lacrosse. They’ll face a Towson offense that ranks 18th in offensive efficiency, but has been held in check by other Top 25 defenses like Syracuse, St. Joe’s and Virginia, averaging just 6.3 goals against those three teams.
Meanwhile, Towson’s defense ranks 52nd in adjusted defensive efficiency, but I don’t expect them to struggle as much against Stony Broo’s’ 54th-ranked offense. Ultimately, I expect a tight, low-scoring game between these conference rivals and would be surprised if both teams got to double-digits.
Bet this game to stay Under 22.5 at -110 on BetMGM, DraftKings or FanDuel.

Dartmouth at Penn

Is the wrong team favored in this Ivy League matchup? I think so. I believe the line opened at 2.5 before quickly moving to 1.5, but my initial reaction was to want to fade a 6-1 Dartmouth. Then I took a closer look at both teams’ advanced metrics on Lacrosse Reference…
Sean Kirwan’s Dartmouth ranks 18th in adjusted offensive efficiency and while that rank dips to 27th when excluding garbage time, it’s still better than Penn’s 44th-ranked offense. Defensively, Dartmouth also edges Penn with the ninth-best adjusted defensive efficiency rating compared to Penn’s 23rd when excluding garbage time. The biggest edge may be at the faceoff where Dartmouth’s adjusted faceoff percentage ranks 21st compared to Penn’s 66th excluding garbage time.
Dartmouth hasn’t played as tough a schedule as Penn this season, but Lacrosse Reference’s metrics account for this and the Quakers haven’t exactly impressed in either of their wins or losses. Penn was blown out by their two best opponents in North Carolina and Duke and their four wins were against Albany, Delaware, Villanova and Brown—not exactly a murder’s row of opponents.
Their one-goal victory over Brown is a good reference point for how their second Ivy League came could go. Brown’s offense is far worse than Dartmouth—in fact, it currently has the worst adjusted offensive efficiency rating excluding garbage time in all of Division I college lacrosse—but has a similarly strong defense and its dominance at the faceoff dot allowed them to hang with Penn.
Combine the faceoff advantage with both Dartmouth and Penn playing at an incredibly slow pace and we should see a low-scoring game that would favor the underdog. Dartmouth’s offense should be able to muster enough success aginst Penn and a possession advantage should help them not only cover, but win outright on Saturday night. Split a unit and bet half on Dartmouth +1.5 at +100 on bet365 or FanDuel and Dartmouth moneyline at +160 on FanDuel.
Picks: Dartmouth +1.5 (0.5 unit), Dartmouth ML (0.5 unit)
