The California Redwoods visit the Utah Archers in a game that could ultimately decide which one of these teams will make the playoffs. Utah is 0-7 against the spread this season and, while I think they come away with the win on Friday night, I’m not ready to back them on the full game spread. A lot of their struggles have come in the second half, but they’re actually one of the best first-quarter teams. They’ve been the first team to score three points in five of their seven games this season, so I recommend betting Utah Archers First to Three Points at -118 on FanDuel.

I’m also targeting a couple of Utah players’ props. California’s weakness on defense is its short-stick midfielders. I expect Utah to be able to generate quality matchups for their midfielders and am betting on two in particular to have success.

Tom Schrieber has been quiet by his standards this season, but had a big game against California earlier in the season, recording five points. While he’ll likely draw a long pole defender, the presence of Tre Leclaire, Sam King and Grant Ament (more on him soon) should lead to him getting some more favorable looks as both a feeder and a scorer. I love his points prop and 1st quarter goal scorer odds and recommend betting Tom Schreiber Over 2.5 Points at +125 and a half unit on Tom Schrieber 1st Quarter Goal Scorer at +200 on DraftKings.

I also think we’ll get a big game out of Grant Ament. With Matt Moore out for the season, we’ll see a combination of Tre Leclaire, Sam King and Grant Ament initiate from the right wing. Ament has been hitting his stride in the last three games and I see him having success on against California. I recommend betting Grant Ament Over 2.5 Points at +118 and a half unit on Grant Ament Over 1.5 Goals at +154 on FanDuel.

Picks: Utah Archers First to Three Points, Tom Schreiber Over 2.5 Points, Tom Schreiber 1Q Goal Scorer (0.5 unit), Grant Ament Over 2.5 Points, Grant Ament Over 1.5 Goals (0.5 unit)

New York Atlas vs. Maryland Whipsnakes

The New York Atlas has looked like the best team of the season again for a handful of weeks, but their Achilles heel has continually been the Maryland Whipsnakes. Maryland has historically dominated this matchup and has won the last three meetings. While I expect this game to be close and don’t want to rely too much on past games, these odds overlook how well the Whipsnakes match up with New York.

Joe Nardella can go toe-to-toe with Trevor Baptiste and he has faced off better than or even with Baptiste in the last three games against New York. Matt Dunn has done a great job of limiting Jeff Teat in two straight meetings as well. Then there’s Emmet Carroll, who was on the bench when these teams last faced. Brendan Krebs only stopped 52% of the shots he faced, despite the win. I think Carroll, who has an average save percentage of 64.7% in his last three starts, is an upgrade in net. Split a unit and bet half on Maryland Whipsnakes +1.5 at +100 and Maryland Whipsnakes Moneyline at +140 on DraftKings.

I don’t want to overlook how good Liam Entenmann has been either. He made 17 saves in these teams’ last meeting, and the Atlas defense as a whole has played better. Given the goalie matchup and strong play from both defenses lately, I think this total is too high and recommend betting Under 25.5 at -104 on FanDuel (or -105 on bet365 and BetMGM.)

Finally, I’m fading Jeff Teat in a tough individual matchup. I don’t expect a one-point performance from him again, but I do think Maryland will keep him in check again. He’s had just three points combined in his last two games against Maryland and I think they’ll do as much as they can to shut him off. This point total is just a bit too high given the matchup, so I recommend betting Jeff Teat Under 4.5 Points at -150 on bet365.

Picks: Maryland Whipsnakes +1.5 (0.5 unit), Maryland Whipsnakes ML (0.5 unit), Under 25.5, Jeff Teat Under 4.5 Points

2025 PLL Season Best Bets: 65-55 for +16.695 units
All bets are to win 1 unit or more (i.e. 1.2 units at -120, 1 unit at +120) unless otherwise specified.
