National Lacrosse League Betting Picks and Predictions: NLL Week 10 Saturday Best Bets

We didn’t have the start to the weekend that we wanted on Friday, but there are plenty more National Lacrosse League games on Saturday. Let’s take a look at my favorite bets for the remaining NLL Week 10 slate

Albany FireWolves at Buffalo Bandits

Buffalo Moneyline/Spread-300 / -2.5

Odds via bet365

DubClub subscribers already got a notification about this bet from me earlier in the week, but you can still bet FireWolves +3.5 on bet365. Buffalo is a very good team, but Toronto and Philly have proven that they’re vulnerable. Albany is still dealing with injuries on defense, but has the offense to keep it close much like the Wings did. Joe Nardella’s presence at the faceoff dot should be able to prevent any big Buffalo scoring runs, as the Bandits haven’t faced a team with a player who can go toe-to-toe with Connor Farrell yet this season.

These rosters aren’t too different from last season when Albany upset Buffalo to start the season and they absolutely have the ability to keep it close like they did in both NLL Finals games last year. The FireWolves have only lost one game by four or more points this season and have been competitive in every game well into the fourth quarter. Bet Albany +3.5 at -130 on bet365.

If you thought that bet was bold, wait until I tell you I’m fading Dhane Smith on Saturday night and betting him to stay under his points prop of 9.5 (-140 on bet365). Smith is definitely capable of going over this, but he’s only done so in 25% of his 28 games dating back to last season. While Albany’s defense is still banged up, I’m going to play the odds here and bet Smith to stay under 9.5 points.

Picks: Albany FireWolves +3.5, Dhane Smith Under 9.5 Points

Rochester Knighthawks at Philadelphia Wings

Rochester Moneyline/Spread+160 / +1.5
Philadelphia Moneyline/Spread-200 / -1.5

The Rochester Knighthawks travel to Philadelphia to face the Wings on Saturday night. Rather than bet a side, I’m targeting the total, which is as low as 24.5 on bet365.

Philly has the most efficient offense, leading the league in goals per offensive possessions (aka sets tracked by Ty Merrow) with 15.61 per 85 possessions (average amount of possessions per game). On the flip side, Philly is tied with Rochester with the third-least efficient defense, both allowing 12.16 goals per 85 possessions. Both defenses have also given up transition often and we could see this game turn into an up-and-down track meet.

While Rylan Hartley is set to suit up for Rochester for the first time this season, he isn’t expected to start ahead of Riley Hutchcraft this week. While Hutchcraft has been playing better as of late, I expect Rochester to have a tough time defending this high-powered Wings offense. Bet this game to soar over 24.5 at -115 on bet365.

I’m also banking on Rochester’s offense to have success and betting Ryan Smith in particular. Smith’s points prop is 3.5, which is a mark he’s surpassed in 17 of his last 28 games. He had a five-point game last season against Philly and I think he’ll be able to go over 3.5 points (-120 on bet365) again on Saturday night.

Picks: Over 24.5, Ryan Smith Over 3.5 Points

Georgia Swarm at calgary roughnecks

Georgia Moneyline/Spread-238 / -2.5
Las Vegas Moneyline/Spread+180 / +2.5

I’m not sure we can trust the Georgia Swarm to cover as a 1.5-point favorite, let alone at -2.5. The Swarm are 0-5 as a favorite this season, including once as a 2.5-point favorite when they lost outright to Rochester.

Even with the Las Vegas Desert Dogs ranking last in my power rankings, I wouldn’t make them longer than +149 moneyline underdogs against Georgia and they actually match up pretty well with the Swarm. Rochester, Ottawa and Calgary all attacked Georgia in transition and that has been the Desert Dogs’ biggest strength this year.

Furthermore, Las Vegas has added rookie Jackson Webster, who has 10 points in three games already, traded for defender Drew Belgrave and opted to start Justin Geddie in net. They’ve sneakily improved their roster since the start of the season and all three of those players give them a better chance at winning games this season. Expect Las Vegas to play Georgia tight and bet Desert Dogs +2.5 at -130 on DraftKings.

In addition to the spread, I recommend betting a half unit on the moneyline at +185 on BetRivers as well. The two games that Las Vegas covered as a 2.5-point underdog, they also won outright with moneyline odds longer than +200. While the books are getting smarter about not completely undervaluing them, I still think they have value on the moneyline as well.

Picks: Las Vegas Desert Dogs +2.5, Las Vegas Desert Dogs ML (0.5 unit)
