My favorite bet of the weekend comes in the rematch between the Oshawa FireWolves and Ottawa Black Bears. When these teams last faced, the Black Bears won 16-14, but Oshawa hurt themselves with two key penalties that led to three goals and they also allowed two empty-net goals. The FireWolves have struggled this season, but two weeks off should have given them enough time to reset and I like the odds for them to pull off the upset. After a late comeback against Buffalo falls short in overtime on Friday, the Saskatchewan Rush travel to Rochester to take on the Knighthawks. Rochester is not only fresh, but I think you could make the case for this game to be closer to a pick ’em even if the Rush weren’t on short rest.
Rochester has had two weeks to prepare for this game and more importantly will be getting starting goaltender Rylan Hartley back from suspension. This Knighthawks offense has the ability to hurt a likely gassed Saskatchewan team in transition and I love getting them as a plus-money underdog at home in this spot.
