2026 Premier Lacrosse League Betting Picks and Props: PLL Week 3 Best Bets

After a bye week on Memorial Day Weekend, the Premier Lacrosse League travels to Baltimore for Week 3. You can read my article on USA Lacrosse Magazine for the key storylines and players to watch ahead of this weekend. Yet, let’s dive deeper into each matchup from a betting perspective and look at my favorite game picks and player props for PLL Week 3…

Note: The odds presented below are those at the time when Hutton sends his picks out on the Action App and are subject to change.

Boston Cannons at Maryland Whipsnakes

In my USA Lacrosse Magazine preview, I gave out Maryland Whipsnakes -1.5 (+124 on FanDuel) and Joey Spallina Over 1.5 Points (-128 on FanDuel.) I think Spallina and this Whipsnakes offense has a whole should be able to take advantage of a Boston defense that his rolling out a new lineup that includes a pair of rookies. Defenses generally take longer to gel, so I give the edge to Maryland in this game.

The Cannons offense should be competitive, but ultimately I think the Whips run away with this game and Spallina benefits from being in an offense that features TJ Malone, Rob Pannell, Aidan Carroll and Matt Brandau to name a few. Spallina’s greatest asset is his lacrosse IQ and I think he’ll operate more as a passer in his PLL debut, which is why I prefer his points prop to his goal props.

I also think his presence will free up Malone a bit. The 2024 PLL rookie of the year has been quiet in his first two games, but I like his matchup against the Cannons and recommend betting a 0.5 unit on TJ Malone 1st Quarter Goal Scorer (+170) on FanDuel.

I also think the time is ripe to bet a little on TJ Malone to win 2026 PLL MVP, with his odds as high as +5000 on BetMGM and +4500 at most other sportsbooks. While Spallina’s presence could take the spotlight off Malone a bit, this offense is still at its best with Malone at the helm and he’s finished back-to-back seasons ranking top 10 in touches with 30+ points. He’s worth a small bet at these odds ahead of a double-header weekend.

I already gave out bets on Maryland Whipsnakes to earn the top seed in the East at +600 and Maryland to win the 2026 PLL Championship at +1300 before the start of the season, but if you didn’t bet it then, they’re worth betting still. The Whipsnakes are still +400 to win the East on BetRivers and +850 to win the championship on Caesars. With Atlas losing Jeff Teat for the entire season (more on them soon) and the potential for Maryland to be 3-1 after this weekend, now might be the last time to get a good price on the Whipsnakes.

Picks: Maryland Whipsnakes -1.5, Joey Spallina Over 1.5 Points, TJ Malone 1Q Goal Scorer (0.5 unit)

Denver Outlaws vs. New York Atlas

We get a rematch of the 2025 PLL Championship on ABC on Saturday, but I expect the Denver Outlaws to come away with a win this time. While New York is getting faceoff specialist Trevor Baptiste and short-stick defensive midfielder Danny Logan back, Atlas beat reporter Jared Valluzzi broke the news earlier this week that Jeff Teat will undergo shoulder surgery and miss the entire 2026 season.

New York registered its lowest goal total in nearly five years last week without Teat. While the Atlas offense is deep, it will be impossible to fully replace Teat. With Denver getting Pat Kavanagh back, I recommend betting the Denver Outlaws moneyline at +105 on BetMGM.

While I still expect New York to be solid this year, losing Teat and Gavin Adler is significant. Right now, the New York Atlas to miss the playoffs is +600 on bet365. While I still think Atlas finds itself in the postseason, those odds are too good to pass up right now and I recommend betting it.

Back to the game itself, I think it will be a group effort on offense for the Outlaws, so I’m not interested in any of the listed players’ goals or points totals. However, I do like two players to potentially score a goal in the opening period.

The aforementioned Kavanagh is back in the lineup and while his odds aren’t that juicy, they’re still too long for him. Bet 0.5 unit on Pat Kavanagh 1st Quarter Goal Scorer at +130 on FanDuel. The other Outlaw I like his rookie Evan Plunkett, who was not afraid to shoot in his rookie debut, despite not registering a goal in Week 2. I love his odds and recommend betting 0.2 unit on Evan Plunkett 1st Quarter Goal Scorer at +380 on FanDuel.

Picks: Denver Outlaws ML, Pat Kavanagh 1Q Goal Scorer (0.5 unit), Evan Plunkett 1Q Goal Scorer (0.2 unit)

Utah Archers at Maryland Whipsnakes

This may surprise some people, but I’m not sure we even reach 22 goals in Maryland vs. Utah. The Archers’ defense looked great in its first two games and should be even better as it gets back starters Brett Dobson and Warren Jeffrey. First overall pick Aidan Maguire will also make his pro debut and should help stifle this Whipsnakes offense. While Maryland certainly has a lot of firepower, I think we’ll get another low-scoring battle between these two teams.

Emmet Carroll and the Whipsnakes defense also looked great last week and are facing a Utah offense that I still think will take some time to find its stride. Without Tom Schreiber or Grant Ament, there could continue to be some growing pains for this offense, and I don’t expect them to be resolved this week. Trust the defenses and bet this game to stay Under 21.5 at -105 on BetMGM or FanDuel.

Pick: Under 21.5

Philadelphia Waterdogs vs. Carolina Chaos

Philadelphia Moneyline/Spread-115 / -1.5
Carolina Moneyline/Spread-110 / +1.5

I expect the final game of the weekend to be the opposite of Whipsnakes-Archers and feature plenty of goals. Carolina’s offense has looked great through two games and gets even more firepower on the left side in the form of Owen Hiltz and rookie Chad Palumbo. While the Waterdogs were woeful on offense against the Cannons, I expect them to bounce back with CJ Kirst and Josh Yago in the lineup against a Carolina defense that will be without Jack Rowlett and is weaker at short-stick defensive midfield than Boston is.

As I discussed further in my USA Lacrosse Magazine preview, trust these offenses to put up points at bet Over 24.5 at -110 on TheScore Bet or -115 on DraftKings or BetMGM.

I also like a couple of the aforementioned Yago’s props. Yago is coming off a dominant NCAA tournament run with Notre Dame and his versatility as a shooter and passer already make him one of the more dynamic midfielders on Philly’s offense. I think the odds are too long for him and recommend betting a full unit on Josh Yago Over 1.5 Points at +162 and a 0.4 unit on Josh Yago 2+ Goals at +285 on FanDuel.

As for Carolina, I recommend betting a half unit on Brendan Nichtern 1st Quarter Goal Scorer at +170 on FanDuel. Nichtern has demonstrated the ability to win his individual matchups through two games with the Chaos and Carolina’s multiple offensive weapons should allow him to get more favorable matchups. He’ll start on attack once again, so his odds to score in the opening 12 minutes are too low.

Picks: Over 24.5, Josh Yago Over 1.5 Points, Josh Yago 2+ Goals (0.2 unit), Brendan Nichtern 1Q Goal Scorer (0.5 unit)
